About Wenlo

Wenlo is a family location-sharing and school-carpool app, made by a small independent company in New Jersey.

Who makes Wenlo

Wenlo is built by Wenlo Labs LLC, an independent company based in New Jersey, USA, founded by Joel Kandy. The app launched on the Apple App Store in October 2026 as Wenlo: Family & Carpools; it was previously developed under the name Kinly and renamed in September 2026. An Android version is in Google's testing period ahead of its public Play listing.

Why it exists

Most family-location apps are free because they are paid for with ads and, in some cases, with your family's location data. Wenlo takes the opposite position: no ads, no data brokers, and location that is never sold. Location history deletes itself after about 90 days for every member, including kids.

The second idea is that the hard part of family logistics is not seeing dots on a map. It is Tuesday's swim pickup. So carpools are a core feature, not an add-on: shared schedules, fair-share driver rotation, claim-and-confirm driving days, and "On My Way" updates for the family waiting at the curb.

How kids are protected

Children under 13 never create accounts or share an email. A parent sets up each child and completes COPPA verifiable parental consent before any of the child's location is collected, and can export or delete that data at any time.
